Penguin #1

We found our first penguin today. (While we're still working with some of our technology, this picture was taken with a standard film camera and scanned rather than being taken in a digital format.) This penguin is located at the Allan Chapman Activity Center (ACAC) at the University of Tulsa, 5th Place and Gary Avenue.

Technical Difficulties....

A Little Bit of Background....

I guess a little bit more background information on this project might be helpful. I'm borrowing information from a variety of sources, but links are included....

"Tulsa Zoo Friends Inc. and the Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum introduced Penguins on Parade--a community beatification project and fundraiser for the African black-footed penguin exhibit at the Zoo. [...] Businesses or individuals 'adopted' (cost: $2500) or bought (cost: $3500) 6-foot-tall fiberglass penguins from the Zoo and then hired local artists who, along with companies, got to dress and decorate them." (from an article titled "Penguin Nirvana")

Another website is dedicated to describing the process of making the penguins....
